Singles in the city will no longer feel left-out on Valentine’s Day. This time, the Capital is throwing a big party for those without partners, with clubs gearing up to entertain the unengaged kind as enthusiastically as those taken.

“There’s so much couple talk around V-day that it’s quite annoying for singles. That’s why we want to throw a great party for them,” says AD Singh of Olive Bar & Kitchen, which is hosting a special pre-party for singles tonight. “Being single doesn’t mean that you lock yourself away on V-Day,” says Wasiqa Soni of Circa 1193 in Mehrauli. The fairly new nightspot is offering a special package for those not under Cupid’s spell.

Some party spots have come up with plans for single patrons who’d rather mingle around than love thyselves alone. “Single people get left out too often in the whole Valentine’s love parade. So, here, the girls get free cosmos and the guys get to practise their pick up lines,” says Karam Puri, owner of Red Monkey, a Defence Colony resto-bar.

The young and single are loving the change. “Why should anyone feel ashamed of being single? It’s great that nightspots are paying attention to our kind as well. The right to party is everyone’s!” says designer Anand Bhushan, who’s planning to club hop on V-day. “The overdose of mush on V-Day needs to go, and there’s no better way than to get singles to party,” says college student Anusheel Bhan.
