The Queen isn’t coming. She is sending her son instead. But Delhi wants the son’s son. For the first time in 44 years, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II will not attend the inauguration ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, to be held in Delhi in October, due to "heavy workload".
Prince Charles is her substitute. But Delhiites feel this is no compensation.
They want either of his sons — Prince William or Prince Harry to accompany him, with Harry, the younger one, who has recently been named as the coolest’ guy in the world, more in demand.
“Harry loves partying. If he comes, I’ll hopefully see him dancing in Urban Pind or F-Bar,” says IT professional Sumantha Roy. “Naughty as he is, Harry will have a good time and will give a good time to news reporters too,” says Vivek Dhiraj, a PhD student.
The 25-year-old Harry, or Henry Charles Albert David is the third in line to the succession of the British crown. Son of late Princess Diana, he is called the ‘spare’, while older brother William is the heir. Describing him as “soldier, ambassador, polo player, playboy”, the July issue of GQ magazine has put Harry at the top of the ‘King of Cool’, beating Hollywood star Robert Pattinson.

Dubbed a “wild child” by the British media, Harry is often in the news for late-night partying. “I want Harry... even William will do. But no Charles, and definitely not his wife Camilla. My father doesn’t like her,” says Neha Bhagat, who runs a playschool.
