Nearly two years after actors Delnaaz Irani and Rajev Paul filed for separation (the couple were together for 14 years), Delnaaz seems to be moving on.
The actor who is currently acting in the TV show, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, on Sony Entertainment, sounds relieved when we speak to her.
“It wasn’t bitter like it’s being made out to be. It was pretty amicable. I’m still on cordial terms with Rajev. We were in a dead marriage and it didn’t make sense to continue being with each other just for the sake of it,” she says, adding, “Mona’s (actor Mona Singh) story in my daily show has become my real life story. But I’m at peace with myself and I’m moving on in life.”
She now plans to take up a few more acting assignments on the small screen, in plays and films as well. “Apart from getting more focused on work, I also want to start socialising a bit now.
For the last two years or so, I haven’t gone out with friends or spent time with anyone except for my family.
That’s because, mentally, I wasn’t feeling up to it,” says Delnaaz. “Now, I’m feeling lighter inside. And I’m ready to start living all over again.”
