(I don’t know why they chose me; Boxing is not even on the Games list ),” says Mary. “Probably because that will boost the image of the event,” she reasons.

Commonwealth Games

After making a mark in a game that’s physically brutal and considered ‘manly’, Mary believes that “there’s nothing that a girl can’t do”. “It’s not like men have extra hands or something,” says the Khel Ratna winner, who is now eyeing a gold at the 2012 London Olympics.

An Aamir Khan-Juhi Chawla fan, Mary loves watching action flicks, but feels “funny” when she sees actors engaged in mock fights and stunts. “They are not athletes after all, but some of them still pull it off well on the screen,” she signs off.
