David Beckham revealed a hilarious language mixup with American guests at his house when they thought his son was asking him for condoms.

The LA Galaxy star recalled an incident where Brooklyn, 12, had been sketching with a pencil when he called him over.

“Brooklyn said ‘Daddy, I need some rubbers,” the Sun quoted Beckham as saying.

“I looked over at our friends from the US and they were in shock,” he said.

Rubber means an eraser in England but in America it connotes a condom.

“He now calls them erasers,” said Beckham.

The footballer also joked about pop star-turned-fashion designer wife Victoria, 37, kitting out their baby girl, Harper Seven.

“Her wardrobe is ridiculous! I’m glad I got a new Galaxy contract,” he said.
