Actor Mandira Bedi is surprised that people have spotted a baby bump on her when there is none. “I am not the kind to hide these things but I am surprised by this baby bump talk. Where is the bump? I can’t see it so I am surprised that people have spotted it. I think someone just got a tip off about the pregnancy and made it look like they had spotted a bump.”
Mandira, however, says that she and husband, filmmaker Raj Kaushal have been excited ever since they got the news in November. “I got to know three weeks after I conceived. My blood test revealed it and we are both very happy and excited with the news. We have not been trying for a baby since long. We started trying for one very recently and we just got lucky,” she laughs, adding, “I have always maintained that motherhood is something that I want to experience and it is great that we are becoming parents now,” says the actor who has been married to Raj for eleven years now.
The couple has not yet started shopping or thinking of baby names. “Everything is very new right now. We haven’t thought of names or buying baby products. We would be happy with a boy or a girl. We just want a healthy baby,” she says.
The actor, who is still busy working, says that the pregnancy will not deter her work. “I will be anchoring both the World Cup and the IPL. As long as my close up looks good, there are no worries,” she grins.
