Shah Rukh Khan has been so excited about the World Cup that he climbed gates, bought India extra t-shirts for the finals even before India qualified for it, but he was nowhere to be seen during the match. The reason for this was that the actor had injured himself.
Khan had been rather enthusiastic about India's performance during the tournament and had even declared that the country would win the finals as well.
"We will win the final also. I have bought an extra T-Shirt for that... so I have to go there and watch the finals Inshallah! The kids want to go and see," .
But while all of B-Town's who's who (Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor to name a few) were present, SRK had to back out at the last minute on account of a toe injury despite having booked 20 tickets for the match. Apparently, the number of action scenes in Ra.One and Don 2 had taken a toll on the actor. He had injured his toe and it seems the injury played up when he recently stepped on it while shooting for an ad.
"He stepped on his toe while shooting for an ad. It was only later when the toe swelled up to twice its size that people on the sets realised that something had happened," a source told Mid Day.
After completing the shoot, he left.
"Though his toe had healed since then, he decided not to watch the match at the stadium. He didn't want to take a chance. Disappointed, he gave away the tickets to his close friends and watched the match at home."
That really is unfortunate. Hopefully, India will win many more World Cups for SRK to go and watch live!
