If the 10-year-old girl that I was, looked at the life I’m living right now, it would be the stuff that dreams are made of. Pursuing an acting career, having modelled, taken part in pageants, living in Bombay, travelling and having the choice to do whatever I want. Wow! But now that I’m here, there so much more I want, because as they say “Satisfaction is death!”
Sometimes I feels like I’m back at the starting line. There’s so much to achieve! I’m not happy being a struggler, going for auditions and waiting for work.
Going by my lackluster sickly mood, a friend of mine highly recommended that I watch The Secret. I knew what that was… the law of attraction, putting your desires out there in the universe, positive reaffirmations and blah- blah-blah...
Watching the exaggerated documentary however helped bring back my positivity that had taken a beating in recent past.
Life as per The Secret
The woman looks yearningly at a gold necklace in the window of a jewellery store. She fixates on the bling. There’s some disruption in the atmosphere and then the necklace is magically draped around her neck, not to forget the sound effect. Now if only I could just stare at DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge) for an hour, use that same disruption, and then suddenly find myself in the movie opposite Shah Rukh Khan, life would be easy!
Lots of us desire many things — name, fame, money, adulation, fans, tweeple, beauty and immortality! But while we’d all love to be famous or in perfect shape, star opposite SRK or Ranbir Kapoor. The real secret is that you don’t get what you just desire, you get what you deserve.

Wow! and come away with the illusion that you can sit around and visualise millions landing in your lap. There’s a way it’s going to happen though... and when you’re optimistic, new ideas come to you and you’re able to get through the various obstacles thrown at you.
Being a starlet might sound cool, but I have days when I want to give up, thinking of alternative careers. Unfortunately there’s nothing else I’d be reasonably happy doing.
Someone rightly said that acting, writing or directing is for the irrecoverably diseased. Those who are so smitten with the need, that there is no choice! I think the ‘secret’ is that everyone has their own secret, and everyone has their own dream… we’ve just got to find that magic carpet to get us there!
