70s chic and Godly-glam

Colourful disco vibe and designs fit for the Helen of Troy — elegance and fun came together on day 5.

The penultimate day saw audiences glued to their seats and their gaze transfixed to the runways. A day of veterans, designer Adarsh Gill started with a show that saw contemporary silhouettes meet traditional detailing. And, Suneet Varma ended it with a mesmerising, Homeric tale of gorgeous designs, inspired by the ancient city of Pompeii, at the ongoing Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013, in association with Azva. The day also saw the launch of NRG drink - the official presenter of Varma’s show. Romie Dutt, executive director, Sahara India Pariwar, said, “NRG is for people who are desirous to reignite their passion in them and to explore inner talent like Suneet Varma, who is one of the most talented designers in the country. We are very pleased to associate with him.”

Exaggerated, shimmery embellishments on traditional outfits added signature retro, 70s vibe

Sheer shararas layered with lace in the same colour and teamed with sequinned kurtas, were interesting

Ombre-hued saris, kurtas and heavily-embellished sleeveless jackets and sherwanis were also showcased

We loved the tassel earrings, glittery and dangling chain halo headbands, as well as

the short sequinned dresses. Just wish the styling suggested a way to fashion them for a wedding
