Jewellery designer Pradeep Goel says, “During summer, women choose outfits in light and pastel colours, these necklaces jazz up the look. Gold and silver are hot this season.”

Add some glamour

A collar necklace instantly adds glamour to your look. Wear a plain, metallic crescent shaped collar neckpiece with your shirt or go for a Peter Pan collar necklace with casual T-shirts.

“These necklaces can be paired with a blouse or even a strapless dress with a plunging neckline,” says Nirvane Jain, of the jewellery brand Silverline.

Choosing a collar necklace

Accessory designer Nupur Batra explains how you should style collar necklaces.

She says, “I recommend fuss-free make-up with collar necklaces. While wearing them, the width of the necklace and your neck type should be kept in mind. If you have prominent collar bones, be experimental. But if you have a short and stout neck, keep it simple. You can team a broad collar necklace with a corset, while a broad boat neck collar necklace with a motif at its centre can be teamed with a deep V-neck. No scarves should be used with these necklaces.”
