Designer Pallavi Jaikishan’s India Couture Week 2018 collection on Thursday was packed with trends we can’t wait to wear ourselves, including bold and bright colours and luxe metallic silhouettes. We are also excited that the designer’s collection, Nostalgia, proved that a floral look is always a good idea. What’s an even better idea is going floral in exquisite retro-inspired sarees that pack an extra punch.
Many of the sarees had a softer look with iridescent and shiny organza and sheer fabrics that were playfully finished with a variety of tassels and fringes. But thanks to many jaw-dropping moments on Jaikishan’s ICW 2018 runway, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, we are currently obsessing over playful sheer black sarees that are the ideal formal occasion wear, perfect for spicing up your next fancy outing.

Jaikishan went all out with head-to-toe metallics. But by designing dark sarees in bold and graphic look-at-me blooms, rather than opting for pretty, ditsy flowers, the designer created sarees that are ready for the spotlight. The bright red, yellow and green embroidery totally livened up the dark base. No matter what the occasion, these Pallavi Jaikishan ensembles are definitely more interesting than your average embellished saree. Wear them for those moments when you just feel like making a statement.
