Get winter chic: Reinvent your wardrobe for the season

Mumbai’s barely-there nip in the air is a great time to try new silhouettes, layer up cleverly.
There’s finally a nip in the air, which means you can join the rest of the world in celebrating this year’s ‘winter fashion’ trends.
Roomy fashion is in, this season, says fashion designer Surily Goel. So go for boxy silhouettes, clever layering and plenty of fabric. This also means you can shed the layers when the sun comes out in full force, as it is wont to do, December notwithstanding.
“If you’re dressing up, go for quirky pairings,” Goel adds. “Think bomber jackets with ghagras.”
Onesies are all the rage too, ranging from sporty colour-blocked one-piece outfits to dressy embroidered affairs complete with capes.

“These are perfect for helping you stand out while keeping you covered up for the crisp weather, but not too warm,” says stylist Kazim Delhiwala.
Designer Pratima Anand also recommends long asymmetrical tops paired with leggings and jerseys.
