Hits and misses: Who wore what at the Coldplay concert in Mumbai
We look at the best and the worst outfits that Bollywood celebrities wore at the Global Citizens Concert, featuring Coldplay, in Mumbai.
It is advisable to wear flats, especially sneakers or boots, at a concert with an 80,000-strong crowd. Most Bollywood celebrities who attended the Coldplay concert on November 19 knew that, and turned up in comfortable outfits to watch the show. There were others, however, who wore high heels and matched outfits a tad awkwardly. We look at some of the best and worst looks from the event.
The hits:
Sonam Kapoor

India’s fashion icon looked pretty in a simple red, calf-length dress. She wore sunglasses almost throughout the event, and kept her hair loose.
Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi donned a comfortable outfit for her performance – an olive green skirt and jacket with a black top and black boots. She continued wearing the same outfit for the entire duration of the concert.
Ranveer Singh

Ranveer had the only dance performance at the show. Behind the scenes, however, he was spotted carrying what looked like a boom box. He wore a silver jacket embellished with gold-coloured rings and tassels paired with tattered black studded jeans and red shoes with spikes. He looked every bit the rock star.
Katrina Kaif

We saw Katrina in two outfits – a plain white, figure hugging dress, and a pink, orange and black sheer lace dress, which she teamed up with black ankle-length stiletto boots. She looked great in both the ensembles.
Alia Bhatt

The military print resurfaced once again as Alia sported an interesting combination comprising a metallic gold pleated skirt, a military print jacket and golden sneakers with ‘love’ printed on them. Talk about mixing comfort and glam well.
The misses:
Freida Pinto

We’ve seen Freeda top her fashion game at almost every event she attends. At the Coldplay concert, however, she wore a formal collared shirt with a ribboned bow, and teamed it up with a blue floral printed pleated skirt, with gold sequined lace-up shoes. It was a complete mismatch.
Vidya Balan

Vidya’s long green jacket, worn with grey palazzo pants, a white top and a chunky necklace, may have been comfortable, but proved to be a dull outfit. Her platform stilettos upset the look even further.
Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika turned up at the concert in a military style dress that she wore with ankle-length boots. The look simply did not work.
