The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, which unfurled in the National capital yesterday, saw buyers from across the globe evincing interest in forging ties with Indian designers.
"There is about 80 per cent increase in the number of international buyers and agents," Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Executive Director Sumeet Nair said.
Best international agents, associated with a large number of foreign buyers and overseas public relation agents have been invited to this event, he added.
"Large number of foreign buyers from Japan and London are looking for tie-ups with designers," WIFW debutant designer Neeraj told PTI.
Nair said WIFW provides designers and buyers a platform to build long-term relationships and generate business.
About 150 buyers, including 50 from overseas, are taking part in the event, in which about 82 designers would showcase their collections.
