Enter the loafer. Available in every conceivable colour and style, the classic slip-on shoe seems to be the hottest trend for menswear.
Designer Varun Bahl admits that it’s their comfort factor and laidback luxury that gives them an edge over regular shoes. His line of loafers, designed in collaboration with Karan Johar, will soon be available after their fashion week debut in August.
While luxury fashion house Tod’s popularised the shoe in India, Tres Mode and Zara make more budget friendly versions. And don’t let your colour choices be boring. Eschew the usual black and brown. You could take a hint from model Shawar Ali and try on some white loafers for a take on Jeetendra or John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever.
