Setting trends and slaying red carpets is what Kangana Ranaut does best. Just back from Cannes Film Festival, the actor was spotted at Mumbai on Monday, taking another sartorial risk. This time pulling off a vibrant all-over sequin mini dress flawlessly.

We need to talk about the yellow dress Kangana Ranaut wore to an event in Mumbai on Monday. Now, there is no doubt she is Bollywood’s biggest stylish trendsetter: She’s wowed us with picture-perfect airport looks wearing pantsuits and sarees, she looked stunning in her kanjeevaram saree at actor Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception and she was a head-turner at the ongoing 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Without doubt, the 31-year-old has always set bold new trends with her high-wattage looks.

Adding to her long list of sartorial accomplishments is Kangana’s latest yellow all-over sequin dress from Dior. Pairing the quirky dress with black pointed-toe ankle boots, Kangana wore her hair in beach waves with tons of volume for the occasion. We also love the shade of lipstick — pink-nude — that Kangana has gone for with this look, toning things down with a soft pink colour, allowing the dress to do all the talking.

While we might have been saving neon colours for the next party we went to, we’re now seriously thinking of taking a leaf out of Kangana’s book and adding yellow to our everyday ensembles.

If you need any further proof that yellow is truly the colour to wear right now, then look no further than actor Alia Bhatt, just-married actor Neha Dhupia and Miss World Manushi Chhillar clad in yellow. If these stylish ladies don’t stun you into a quick makeover, we don’t think anything else will.

Proving a suit can be just as sexy and flattering as a dress, Miss World Manushi Chhillar wore this slit mustard pant set from Shivani Awasty in April 2018. For more on her style, click here.

In January 2018, Alia Bhatt wore this oh-so-twirl-worthy Manish Malhotra anarkali in a yellow-that-yelled (which was a marvellous choice by the actor for a daytime event), with matching yellow embroidery in floral motifs, with serious aplomb. For more on her style, click here.

Actor Shilpa Shetty wore this high-slit skirt from French label Jacquemus’ spring/summer 2018 collection in April 2018. The bright ruffled asymmetric skirt from Jacquemus exposed her thigh on one side, while appearing somewhat modest on the other. It is priced at €590 ( 47,395). For more on her style, click here.

In March 2019, actor Aditi Rao Hydari wore a handwoven pineapple yellow saree at a wedding. Giving a modern twist to the sartorial classic, she paired her bright Raw Mango creation with a contrasting sleeveless rama green blouse. For more on her style, click here.

Actor Neha Dhupia sparkled in a sleeveless yellow Shantanu and Nikhil gown (from their spring summer 2018 collection, Tribe - The India Story) that complemented her glowy skin and tousled brown locks in May, 2018. Her gown was somewhere between a marigold and the shade of mustard. For more on her style, click here.
