The regal designer of the fashion industry Raghavendra Rathore talks about his collection just few hours before his show.

Tell us something about your collection?
The collection is inspired by the absence of happiness and the turmoil in the financial market, depression and bomb blasts in Delhi. I have played very safe; the collection is all black and white. The clothes are going to speak commercial language.

Men's wear is more twisted and women's wear is more Indian with black and white prints, combined with skirts and very few sarees.

Why did you choose DFW over WIFW, when you have been associated with it since long?
This season I am showing here; another season may be somewhere else. I am showing my collection at Mumbai also. It's a free country.

What do you think of two fashion weeks running simultaneously?
It's a matter of geography; there is no tug of war between buyers as the dates are same. These days buyers come in groups as against single buyers earlier.

Have you invited any celebrity to your show and do you believe in celebrity endorsements?
No we don't believe in celebrity endorsement; we believe in the magic of Indian clothes and the magic of Indian colours. We only focus on clothes.

Here at DFW fashion is combined with luxury. Do you think that designers showcasing here are going to enter the luxury market, sooner or later?
The word 'luxury' is highly misunderstood in India. Luxury is going through an evolution in India. The fashion week is taking place. It has nothing to do with entering luxury market because it is a niche market. Here at Emporio Mall, they have managed to create a brand and this is just a beginning of luxury market in India.
