Tattoo tights: Get a leg up on style

Stock up on inked leggings this festive season and keep your best friends wondering when you got that new tattoo done.

If you have always wanted a tattoo but just couldn’t commit to a design or chickened out thinking of the pain involved, just wear a pair of leggings.

Yes, you heard it right, tattooed tights are emerging to be a hot trend this fall. A rage on the international circuit, singers Jessie J, Rihanna and Kesha were seen rocking their tattooed stockings recently.

“It is quite a cool option for those who don’t want to go for real tattoos. But the key is to wear it well and not end up looking like one of the Hells Angel girls,” says designer Namrata Joshipura. She suggests teaming a black dress with a stocking that has a tattoo design around or near the ankle for a chic yet glam look. “Team up long tops, jacket-dresses and short denim shorts with tattoo stockings for a casual look,” suggests designer Gaurav Gupta.

You can also create your own tattoo leggings by indulging in some DIY. Take a printout of the design you want and stick it on a book. Then place it inside a pair of sheer, nude leggings. Now, trace the design on the stocking with the help of a marker. Let it dry for some time and you are ready to wear the chic freshly inked look!
