Yamaha launched three mid-range bikes in India, priced between 47,000 and 52,000. The motorcycles—SZ, SZ-X and YBR125—were unveiled in a Noida shopping mall by Bollywood actor and Yamaha brand ambassador John Abraham. While SZ and SZ-X are powered by a 153cc engine, the YBR125 will run on a 123cc engine. Yamaha had earlier launched VMax—one of the costliest bikes in India before Harley Davidson came in — at 20 lakh.

Pop diva Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes have launched their new clothing line for teens. Called ‘Material Girl’, the line consists of clothes, footwear, handbags and accessories, and was launched at Macys in New York on Tuesday. The promotional pictures show Taylor Momsen (right), the 17-year-old Gossip Girl star, tangled up in chains with bleached hair and heavy make-up.

The first ladies of three countries — America’s Michelle Obama, France’s Carla Bruni and Britain’s Samantha Cameron — have all made it to the Vanity Fair magazine’s ‘International Best Dressed List for 2010’. While Michelle has appeared on the list four times and Carla Bruni made it for the third year in a row, Britain’s youngest PM David Cameron’s 39-year-old wife is said to be the first pregnant wife of a top leader to be on the list.

Celluloid goes vegetarian
The 1994 Taiwanese film Eat Drink Man Woman left one hungry for Chinese and Taiwanese delicacies with its lip-smacking portrayal of cooking methods, while its sequel will promote vegetarianism, says producer Hsu Li-Kong. The film, which goes on the floor next month, has a working title of So Far Yet So Near. “The movie is going to be all about vegetarianism. Since it is about eating and drinking, so there will be a lot of food on the table in the movie,” 65-year-old Hsu added.
