White ruled the first Bollywood red carpet event after the death of legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra. At an awards gala in Mumbai on Saturday, leading ladies Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra all wore white outfits in what seemed to be a mark of respect for the King or Romance who passed away last week at the age of 80.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who made her first public appearance after marriage, wore a one-shoulder David Meister white gown that showed off her curves. Katrina Kaif chose a Valentino spring 2012 white lace dress. Priyanka Chopra wore a white Amato Haute Couture dress that she teamed with white peep toes.
PC also danced to songs from Chopra’s blockbusters in a white sari. Her act left many teary eyed, including actor Amitabh Bacchan, who gave her a hug as she broke down after the performance.
