Regular trips to the beauty parlour to get rid of unwanted hair can be a tedious affair for busy souls. Laser hair removal is an option for such people, as its effects stay on for a few months at a stretch. Here’re some facts about laser treatment:

Laser hair removal doesn’t cause either hypo or hyper-pigmentation.
Laser does not contain UV radiation.
This method works for any skin type or colour, but not on white hair.
The procedure requires multiple sittings. Depending on the body part to be worked on, a sitting can take 15 minutes to three hours.
Laser hair removal does not mean lifelong freedom from hair. The results last only for four months to a year.
Cost depends on the area under treatment — Rs 5,000 upwards for six-eight sittings for upper lips, Rs 6,000 upwards for facial hair, etc.
Before going in for laser hair removal, complete consent from the client is required. In case of a minor, the guardian’s consent is needed. There’s no age bar for the treatment.
