When a football superstar joins one of the most famous clubs in the world, fireworks are bound to go off.
After weeks of intense speculation and coy responses at press conferences, Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed on Thursday that his next destination is English club Manchester United. Newly-appointed manager Jose Mourinho will reunite with the talismanic striker, after their days at Serie A side Inter Milan.
In typical Zlatan fashion, it was the man himself and not the club, who announced that he was moving to Manchester United through an Instagram post on Thursday.
Twitter exploded over the blockbuster move, with about 50,000 retweets on Ibrahimovic’s post in less than 15 minutes of the story breaking.
