Travelling to and from Metro stations will now become a costly affair for commuters as the state-run Haryana Roadways on Sunday doubled the tariff between the main bus stand and metro stations. On other routes, however, the tariff has not been hiked. It is believed that the reduction in the kilometre slab has led to the increase in the bus fares across Gurgaon and Faridabad.

According to the new slab, short routes will be most affected. From Gurgaon bus stand the bus ride will now cost the commuters R10 instead of R5 to reach the three main metro stations here - Huda City Centre, Iffco Chowk and MG Road - from the bus stand.
According to the earlier slab, a distance of up to six kilometres cost R5, but now the same rate is applicable for up to five kilometres only.
Director general of Haryana roadways Arun Kumar said the direction for changing the kilometre slab was given to the Gurgaon and Faridabad depots and new rates would be implemented from Sunday.
