The police said they have arrested three of the accused during a raid at a Gurgaon-based office of a Chinese firm that offered services in cellular tower maintenance and recovered 50 laptops.

The company’s managing director Eng Teik Kai, a Chinese national, fled to Malaysia with around 200 laptops which were supplied by different vendors in the city. Another Chinese, David Tang, who was working as general manager in the company, is also absconding, the police said.

The raid was conducted after a joint complaint filed by six businessmen who used to supply laptops, cabs and other services to the firm. The accused firm owes up to Rs1 crore to the complainants.

The complainants said that the accused did not make payments for various services. They also alleged that they were assaulted by the bouncers hired by the accused when they went to ask for their dues.

DCP, East Gurgaon Maheshwar Dayal said, “The amount which all the six vendors have to claim is around Rs1 crore. The MD fled to Malaysia on Thursday night. The 200 laptops which they had were also sent to Malaysia. Fifty laptops were with the managers of the company, which we have recovered from their office on Friday afternoon. Investigations are on and we will soon arrest the culprit.”
