The Millennium City, thanks to several dark stretches and most of them unattended by the police, has become vulnerable to robbers especially carjackers. Residents have been regularly complaining to the administration about this menace but to no avail.

Maximum number of carjacking cases has been reported from posh localities of the city like Sector 29, especially areas behind the Gymkhana Club and roads near the cultural hot-spot — Kingdom of Dreams — behind the Iffco Chowk Metro station.
The Sector 29 area has many boutiques and five star hotels, which are frequented by the rich in swanky cars.
The robbers mostly strike at isolated parking lots and stretches.
They strike at will as there are hardly any streetlights here.
NH-8 is another vulnerable stretch where at least half-a-dozen carjacking cases were reported in the last two months.
Palam Vihar, which has a porous border with the National Capital, too is witnessing a rise in snatching cases, which is now becoming a routine business. Robbers take advantage of roads where traffic movement is less and sparse streetlights.
Another dangerous locality is Sector 56. Recently, in a broad daylight incident, seven school teachers were robbed at gunpoint by two bike-borne miscreants.

{{/usCountry}}The Golf Course Extension road is another dark stretch of the city. On August 24, a man was robbed of his car here but thanks to the prompt action taken by the police. The car was recovered from Rajiv Chowk within two hours of the incident.
Despite such incidents, many people still give lift to strangers and fall prey to miscreants.
Repeated requests for installing streetlights in dark stretches have failed to move authorities.
