Driver rapes maid in employer’s car

A 25-year-old woman, working as maid at a house in the city, was allegedly raped by the driver of an ex-service man’s car, police said on Monday.

The accused, Mukesh, has been arrested and a case has been registered after the victim’s employer Jagreeth lodged a complaint.

The incident took place on Sunday night when Jagreeth, a resident of Park View in Sector 40, returned home after attending a wedding in Delhi, where she also took her maid along.

According to police, Jagreeth’s host, a retired army officer, had assigned his driver to drop them in his Honda City car. As Jagreeth reached home, she asked the driver to drop the maid and her other two domestic helps — Sham Sunder and Ranjeet — at their homes.

After reaching Subhash Chowk, the driver asked the domestic helps to get down from car and then raped the woman, the police said, adding that the victim belonged to Jharkhand and had been working here for the past six years.
