Experts debate need for better education

More than 100 principals from various schools participated in the 11th annual conference of the Gurgaon Progressive Schools Council (GPSC) at Suncity School, Sector 54, recently.

More than 100 principals from various schools participated in the 11th annual conference of the Gurgaon Progressive Schools Council (GPSC) at Suncity School, Sector 54, recently.

The GPSC was established in the year 2000 to promote social, cultural and educational development in schools.

Nirmal Yadav, principal of Colonel’s Central Academy School, Sector 4, is the head of GPSC.

Speaking at the event, chief guest Karan Singh Yadav, vice-chancellor, YMCA, Faridabad, said, “Only education can take the country forward and we need to upgrade our standards. Many schools are lagging in this aspect.”

The conference focused on four topics — imparting value in school education, the concept of CBSE-International, schools’ quality assessment and accreditation, and evaluation and research. The participants discussed these issues in detail.
