Galleria resident association poll quashed, fresh election soon

The district registrar has quashed the election to the executive council of the Galleria Condominium Association (GCA) in DLF City-4 on grounds of irregularities and disputes. A retired government official has been appointed as an administrator to hold fresh election.

The post of administrator (also called returning officer) will be effective from July 1.

The district registrar (firms and societies) took the step after members of the association filed complaints.

The district registrar, meanwhile, has sent a notice to the existing executive council of the association, apprising the appointment of the administrator under chapter 8 of sections 39 (4), and 39 (10) of the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012. According to the office of district registrar, the complaints range from misuse of association’s funds to dispute in conducting the annual general body meeting held on June 18.

“The administrator will conduct fresh and fair election for the Galleria Condominium Association,” said an official in the district registrar’s office. The association was registered in 2002. In 2006, the DLF management handed it over to the Galleria Condominium Association, which looks into maintenance of the Galleria market complex.

“I will not comment on the matter as the district registrar has already appointed an administrator,” said GCA president Atul Mitra.
