Gurgaon civil hospital has become the third hospital in Haryana to receive the National Quality Assurance Certificate (NQAC). Following the certification, the hospital will get R 1 crore to improve infrastructure and introduce more facilities for patients.
The certificate was awarded after a panel of external assessors evaluated the hospital on various parameters such as cleanliness, treatment of patients and availability of hospital staff.
Earlier, the civil hospitals in Panchkula and Faridabad were awarded with the NQAC. The surveyors observed the hospital for about six months.
“A team of external assessors had come to inspect the hospital on various grounds. Though a lot of work is yet to be completed in the hospital, the R 1 crore budget will enable the management to broaden its horizon and bring in more technology,” Pushpa Bishnoi, chief medical officer, civil hospital, said.
The doctors and hospital staff emphasised that infrastructure and regular availability of doctors should be the priority of the administration.
A civil hospital staffer, requesting anonymity, said, “A lot of work needs to be done to bring the hospital at par with other private players in the city. We need to introduce a lot of new technology and innovation, and keep a check on the hospital’s infrastructure.”
