Gurgaon: Five fuel stations told to relocate for underpasses project

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing these underpasses on NH-8 in a bid to decongest the important intersection on the highway. The relocation of the five fuel stations is essential for smooth construction of underpasses, an official said.

“We have sent reminders to the owners of the fuel (petrol and CNG) stations to shift their locations and submit action taken report by Thursday evening,” Yashpal Yadav, Huda administrator, said. He said the owners have been asked to visit the Huda office to submit action taken report on an urgent basis.

The petrol pumps that have to be shifted are Santosh Filling Station in Sector 18, Rajan Filling Station in Sector 17 C, Karan Filling Station on MG Road, HCG/CNG station on service road of Sector 18 and Route Sahay filling station near Rajiv Chowk.

“We will wait for their report on Thursday. If they do not follow the instructions, we will take action,” Yadav said.

The construction work of the underpasses started in October. The total cost of the projects is estimated at Rs 700 crore.

“The construction will be completed by the end of 2017,” an NHAI official said.
