Gurgaon: History-sheeter murdered over ‘old enmity’, body found in forest near Sohna

Police have booked Pawan, Sunil, Anil, Babli and Rinku under sections 302, 120B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at the Sohna city police station

A history-sheeter was found dead in the foothills of Aravallis in Sohna on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Tejpal, hailed from Sanp Ki Nagli village. His body was found in the Ansal Ghati by his relatives who went searching for him when he did not return from the forest till afternoon. Tejpal was shot thrice.

Police said a case of murder has been registered at Sohna police station. On the complaint of the deceased’s brother Ombir, police have booked Pawan, Sunil, Anil, Babli and Rinku under sections 302, 120B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at the Sohna city police station.

His family members alleged that Tejpal was killed because of an old enmity and that the accused also belong to the same village.

Victim’s brother Ombir told police that Tejpal had gone for a morning stroll towards the Aravalli foothills, but did not come back till afternoon. Worried, the family started searching for him and found his body in the forest. The victim was lying in a pool of blood with bullet holes in his chest and head, the complainant said, adding that the accused and Tejal were locked in a land dispute.

ASI Ajit Singh, who is investigating the case, said. “The family of the victim has alleged that he was killed by these men due to an old enmity. We are conducting raids and the accused will be arrested soon. Although the victim had served jail time but he had been keeping away from crime for the last couple of years.”
