Gurgaon: Licence renewals for real estate projects made tougher

As per the norms, field offices of the DTCP have to submit photographs as evidence of the status of projects after they get a licence renewal application from a developer. (HT File)

The field offices have also been directed to submit reports to the headquarters within 10 days after an application for renewal of licence is made by a developer.

Currently, a licence for a real estate project is issued for a period of five years. Thereafter, it is renewed every two years. The renewal of licences is crucial for obtaining the final Occupation Certificate by the developer, creating the zoning plan and demarcation of the project.

Director, DTCP, has issued the directions, which state that the field offices will have to report the status of development with photographs showing whether development work has been started or not, the amount of work in progress, the work which has been held up, the work that is nearing completion.

The field office will also have to mention the number of workers deployed on a site and state reasons if there is no labour deployed on the site. If there is any complaint submitted to the AGRF, then necessary details will have to submitted to the headquarter, the director said.

The AGRF was set up by the Haryana government after home buyers made numerous complaints against developers.

RS Bhath, assistant town planner, Gurgaon, said they were preparing a plan to ensure that site visits are made as soon as an application for renewal is made. “We will seek the required information, and discuss the matter with the developers to ensure compliance,” he said.
