Gurgaon rave party busted, more than 40 detained

The party, at Tiwari Farm in Bisar village near Tauru, was jointly raided by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Gurgaon police after a tip-off. According to an NCB report, 52 grams of methamphetamine, 33.5 grams hashish, 9.5 grams ganja (weed), 9 grams solid LSD, 17 LSD stamps and 2.5 grams cocaine was confiscated in the raid conducted at 3.30am. Around Rs 29,500 was also recovered.

Those detained reportedly belong to the age group of 20-26 years and included students, executives and BPO employees.

While most revellers were released after their blood samples were taken, seven men, who were in possession of narcotics during the raid, were in police custody. Lokesh Chopra, Aditya Narayan, Rahul Kumar, Josua, Alvir Zamal, Kardab Bansal and Mohit Kapoor will be produced in court on Friday.

Blood samples collected from the others would be sent for testing to the forensic laboratory in Madhuban, Karnal.

The invite for the rave circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp read: "Sonik Scizzor (Dark Prisma Records) Ritual Begins: 00:00 into the woods... Love and Party." Entry fee was Rs 1,000 per person.

"We received information from the NCB on Wednesday night and decided to conduct a joint operation. Since Bisar village falls under Tauru police station limits, the matter is being investigated by Mewat police now," said Gurgaon police commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk.

The police were yet to identify the owner of the farmhouse. They suspect the event organiser has put together 10-12 such rave parties in the past.

The organisers were also reportedly serving alcohol without any excise permit.

A case was registered under sections 20, 21, 22, 25, 27 and 29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic (NDPS) Act, 1985 and provisions of the excise act.
