A 50-year-old official of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) was tested positive for swine flu on Thursday at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI). The hospital had referred him to Apollo Hospital, Delhi, where he has been admitted to the intensive care unit and is on ventilator.

"The doctors have not said when he will be discharged. His condition is serious," one of his family members told HT.
The IMA official was one among the four swine flu cases registered by the health department on Friday. The other cases were from Medanta - The Medicity and Max Hospital. The count reached 10 on Friday. A day earlier, HT had highlighting the disparity between the number of patients registered by the health department and the figure collected from private hospitals.
