A Jat mahapanchayat, held in Dhani Bhojraj village in Fatehabad district on Thursday, decided to hold demonstrations in all districts of Haryana on March 14 to protest against the arrest of “innocent” Jat youths in connection with the recent reservation stir across the state.

The mahapanchayat was held a day after All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) leaders cancelled their dharna at Bhagana village of Hisar after district deputy commissioner’s assurance that justice will be done with anyone arrested wrongly.
Thursday’s mahapanchayat was attended by AIJASS leaders Mahender Poonia and Sube Singh Dhaka, who formed a committee to oversee preparations for March 14 protests.
Sube Singh Dhaka said, “Though the Hisar deputy commissioner had assured the Jat leaders on Wednesday that justice would be ensured to Jat youths, the AIJASS decided to hold one-day dharnas in all districts of Haryana to protest against the arrest of innocent youths who were not at all involved in looting and arson during the stir,” Dhaka said.
