The MCG said 20 agendas were raised, of which, four were postponed, and a separate committee was formed to oversee one agenda. The postponed agenda included charging entry fees at the biodiversity park.

The meeting sought MCG officials’ consent in requesting the state government for 100 police personnel on deputation to specifically cater to civic issues.

Sources said, in a letter to the government, the MCG has assured that they will take up the financial burden of maintaining the police unit and also provide infrastructure for a police station.

The delay in registering a complaint and the unavailability of police personnel during demolition drives are some of the reason that led to such a proposal, an MCG official said.

The meeting also discussed a proposal to use vacant plots as parking lots. The MCG will give licence to land owners who can earn money by simply lending their vacant land to the civic body. In the current setup, people cannot change the land use of their plots. But, if the MCG issues licences, it will pave way for allowing people to convert their land into parking spaces without changing the land use. It will be an arrangement beneficial to both parties.

During the meeting, the officials decided to handover maintenance of 157 acres of corporation land near the biodiversity park to the forest department. The move is in line with the Union ministry of environment, forests and climate change order to reserve government land spanning between 50 and 300 acres as city forest for the forest department.

The officials also decided to form a committee under the chairmanship of Gurgaon divisional commissioner Dr D Suresh to decide circle rates for allotting unused MCG land under the builders’ licensed schemes to the developers.
