The new paid parking lots started by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) in New Gurgaon areas have failed to meet the expectations of city denizens. Residents have complained that the parking lots are not being managed well though they are being charged for parking vehicles.

“There is chaos in parking lots. There are no attendants to guide people,” said Deepak Mitra, a local resident.
Though 46 tenders were floated by Huda for the parking lots, only 15 have so far become operational.
Huda officials had claimed to introduce a dress code for parking attendants, hand-held ticket machines, separate entry and exit points, fluorescent signboards declaring the site as Huda parkings and similar boards explaining the area layout.
However, none of these benchmarks are being followed at the 15 new parking zones such as in Sector 31 market, Sector 56 and DLF Cyber City.
They had also claimed that any lapse on the part of the contractor concerned would invite heavy penalty or termination of the contract.
Meanwhile, a senior Huda official said, “We will form teams to inspect parking lots.”
