Around 8,000 heavy passenger vehicles which make a beeline everyday to enter and exit Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Manesar, disrupting traffic movement on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, will be diverted through an upcoming new link road connecting IMT with Pataudi Road.

The engineering department of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) will soon float a tender in this regard. A senior official of HSIIDC confirmed the development to Hindustan Times on Friday and said the project will be completed in ten months.

“The 60-metre wide and 1.82 kilometre-long road will join IMT's Sector 8 with the Pataudi Road at Jhund Sarai village,” said the official, adding that the project will cost around Rs 2-3 crore and will be toll-free.

All heavy trucks will avoid IMT Chowk and take alternative routes through Bilaspur and Pachgaon crossings on NH-8 which are directly connected with Pataudi.

Once the upcoming Kundli- Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and Northern Peripheral Road is ready, traffic could be diverted through them too as both the expressways intersect the Pataudi Road.
