Notorious criminals held for Jind gangster’s murder

The accused were identified as Manoj and Vicky, both residents of Jind district.

They were produced in a local court on Monday and sent to three days’ police remand.

According to police, gangster Mukesh was involved in 13 heinous crimes.

“The state police transferred the Mukesh murder case to the Gurgaon crime branch recently. A special investigation team was constituted to arrest these criminals,” said Maheshwar Dayal, deputy commissioner of police (east) Gurgaon.

During probe, the team got a tip-off regarding the accused and arrested them on Sunday night.

Besides, the police said the accused have confessed during interrogation that they were involved in one murder and three attempt to murder cases. “They were active in Jind, Sonipat, Kaithal and other areas in the state,” said Dayal.

Police said they will investigate whether these criminals were involved in other crimes in Gurgaon or across the national capital region. “We will also investigate if they had other accomplices,” added Dayal.
