Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said announced a Rs 50-crore scheme for development of water bodies in the state. Under this scheme, Kotla lake in Mewat would also be developed to store water and use it for irrigation.
Hooda was addressing a delegation of Mewat residents who had called on him in New Delhi to express their gratitude for approval of the Delhi-Gurgaon-Sohna-Nuh-Ferozepur Jhirka-Alwar rail line project.
The delegation was led by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Nuh, Aftab Ahmed.
A delegation of Mewat residents, under leadership of Ahmed, had also met the Haryana chief minister on February 17 in New Delhi and urged Hooda for approval of the rail line project.
Those present included members of Pradesh Congress committee Mehtab Ahmed and Maman Khan Engineer, Colonel Aryavir, Ejaz Khan, Aman Ahmed, Hikamtullah, Rafiq Ahmed, Ikbal Zaildar, Sahab Khan, Mohamad Isak Advocate, along with chairpersons of block Congress Nuh, Nagina, Taoru, Punhana and Ferozepur Jhirka.
