Six fresh swine flu cases, toll reaches 18

The city health department registered six fresh cases of swine flu on Tuesday, thereby taking the total count to 18, including one death.

The city health department registered six fresh cases of swine flu on Tuesday, thereby taking the total count to 18, including one death.

As per the department’s records, five cases were reported from the Civil Hospital and 13 from private facilities.

“Every day, we receive at least two positive H1N1 cases,” said an official at the department.

Of the fresh cases, one was reported from the Civil Hospital, while the rest were from Medanta - The Medicity and Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI).

Three of the patients were men in the age group of 30-50 years.

To date, the department has received 19 samples of which, 18 have tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
