A woman was killed after her bicycle was allegedly hit by a car in sector 57 on Wednesday. Police said the woman, a native of West Bengal, worked as a maid in sector 57 and was staying in Tigra village in a rented accommodation with her husband and children.

According to the police, the incident took place around 5.30 pm, when the victim’s brother was waiting for her sister near a private school in sector 57.
Police said the victim’s brother witnessed the incident and took down the registration number of the accused vehicle.
A police official privy to the investigation, requesting anonymity, said police had written to regional transport authority officials to trace the accused car driver.
“The car had a Haryana registration number. The suspect is yet to be arrested,” said the official.
An FIR was registered at Sector 56 police station.
