With the mercury hitting a peak already, air-conditioners are on full blast everywhere. From offices and cars to theatres and malls, the it is the most prized appliance at this time.

However, for those who are allergic to the AC’s direct draught as well as the dust particles that accumulate in the machine, this can be a painful time. You can neither avoid them nor depend completely on anti-allergens, as the latter can make you drowsy. Here is a look at what causes this allergy and how you can counter it.

Causes
If you are unable to breathe properly or are constantly sneezing when the AC is on, it may mean that the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, as they trap allergens such as dust and pollen. These allergens, when released into the air, can be troublesome for those with low immunity levels or with any
respiratory ailments.
