Today, as the trainer launches his first book, Fitness On The Go, he shares some of his favourite clients’ routines and challenges.

Ranbir Kapoor
He’s not an early riser, so we work out at whatever time is comfortable. Since there was a lot of pressure during his debut film Saawariya (2007), we were doing breathing exercises, yoga and meditation to calm his nerves.

He enjoys the outdoors, and loves playing football, which complements his routine. He’s isn’t into bodybuilding and heavy weight training. Earlier, he’d work out for an hour on most days, but he’s not that regular now. He doesn’t put on weight and has a fast metabolism. He started smoking briefly, but I’m glad he’s quit now.

Recently, we shot for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in the Himalayas, and I’d take him, Deepika, Kalki Koechlin and the rest of the cast hiking whenever we got the odd day off.

Sonam Kapoor
I trained her around the release of Saawariya, when she was doing many things to lose weight. She went to the gym, took vigorous kathak lessons and followed a strict diet, so I complemented it with some yoga and surya namaskars.

She lost weight in a very healthy, holistic manner, but it’s always difficult to maintain that. She needs to watch her calorie intake and not let go too much even now.

Sarah Jane Dias
I trained her batch of Miss India contestants for one month until the competition. She’s thin and has a good workout regimen, so my main focus was to give her good posture and keep her relaxed and spontaneous.

We did a lot of yoga, breathing, relaxation and back-bending to enhance her posture and make her look taller and more confident. They were being put through a lot of physical activities anyway, so I focussed on complementing what she was doing in the gym.
