The 39th annual People’s Choice Awards in LA saw some big winners
The Hunger Games devoured the competition at the 39th annual People’s Choice Awards, emerging the top victor with five trophies.
Popstar Katy Perry won three awards at the Wednesday night ceremony in Los Angeles, US, where about 475 million fans select the winners in 40 categories spanning music, movies and television.
Hunger Games, which stars actors Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, was named favorite movie, action movie and movie franchise.
Perry was the fans’ favorite female artist and pop artist. She also won for her video for Part of Me. Actor Sandra Bullock picked up the show’s first favorite humanitarian award for her efforts in New Orleans.
Actor Kaley Cuoco hosted the ceremony at the Nokia Theatre, which also saw performances by singers Christina Aguilera, Jason Aldean and Alicia Keys.
