American actor Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) is in talks to play Marvel superhero Falcon in the sequel to Captain America, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Falcon, Captain America's enemy-turned-friend, first appeared in Marvel comics in 1969, becoming one of the first African-American superheroes of the publishing house, with Luke Cage. A social worker in Harlem by day, Falcon can communicate with birds -- and also fly thanks to his costume -- during his extra activities.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is scheduled for a 2014 release. The movie will follow the American superhero (Chris Evans) battling against his friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who has turned into an assassin suffering from amnesia.
