She has lately been known for her activism in humanitarian and philanthropic work, and harsh political rhetoric, but actor Ashley Judd, 43, who’s been dormant in films with choosy roles since a few years, is now returning to her career.

“I’ve opted out of films for the past five years, so I wasn’t interested but now I’m paying attention again,” says Judd, who’s back full stream to acting with her latest film Dolphin Tale that released in India yesterday.

Judd has her second innings tightly planned too. “There’s a play written by a wonderful Canadian writer named Penny Gummerson, called Wawatay, and it won a lot of major Canadian theatrical awards, and I’m desirous of turning that into a movie someday. I’m actually looking into doing a cable TV series too,” she says, adding, “I have a dream TV project in my head but I’m looking for that match in producers and writers.”

That’s not it, as the actor also finished writing a book while filming the Dolphin Tale. “I’m turning in my first manuscript. It gave me plenty of time to finish the book while being with people I really enjoy,” she says.
