1. Dr. No (1962)
Bond: Sean Connery

Trivia: This was chosen to be the inaugural film in the James Bond series as the plot of the source novel was the most straightforward. It had only one major location (Jamaica) and only one big special effects set piece.

2. From Russia With Love (1963)
Bond: Sean Connery

Trivia: In this film, James Bond does not say “Bond, James Bond” despite the fact that he does say it in the book this film was based on.

3. Goldfinger (1964)
Bond: Sean Connery

Trivia: Aston Martin were initially reluctant to part with two of their cars for the production. The producers had to pay for them. After this film, they never had to spend money on a car again.

4. Thunderball (1965)
Bond: Sean Connery

Trivia: James Bond does not drink a ‘vodka martini shaken, not stirred’ in this movie but he does order a Dom Perignon 55 champagne by a swimming pool whilst dining with Domino.

5. You Only Live Twice (1967)

Bond: Sean Connery

Trivia: James Bond does not drive a car in this film. This is the only EON Productions James Bond film to date in which he does not drive a vehicle.

6. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
Bond: George Lazenby

Trivia: This was the longest Bond film, at 140 minutes, until the appearance of Casino Royale (2006), which runs for four minutes longer.
