Censors at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) have received 120 complaints since the horror film's release in February. They insist it is an unusually high number, reports contactmusic.com.

The complaints are primarily about Radcliffe's role as a young lawyer in a haunted village - a portrayal not suitable for young viewers.

Earlier this year, the BBFC ordered studio heads to cut six seconds of strong violence and horror from the final edit of the film before agreeing to stamp it with the less-restrictive 12A age rating, thereby allowing younger audiences to see the film.
