The director behind Fast and Furious 6, Justin Lin, has been brought on board to helm JJ Abrams' Star Trek 3.

With this new appointment, Lin, who has been credited with reviving the Fast and Furious series, has replaced Roberto Orci, who had got the job after being involved as co-writer of the revamped Star Trek series and will now remain as a producer on the Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions project, Deadline.com reported.
The first two installments were directed by Abrams and had grossed more than 380 million dollars and 460 million dollars worldwide respectively.
